<< Back to Leisure Activities in Almerimar

In this theme park, visitors can enjoy not only the scenes from a typical Wild West town, but also three different performances that recreate life in those times. The park also has a photography studio where you can have a souvenir photo taken dressed up in Wild West costume. In the Tabernas Desert, Almeria, the old film sets from the historic Wild West films have been turned into a Wild West theme park from the Golden Age of the Western. It’s also a great opportunity to take in the Zoological Reserve, with its more than 150 animal species.
The Wild West Village was built for the filming of “For a Few Dollars More ". You can visit the Sheriff’s office, the Saloon, the Grocery Store, the bank, telegraphy, undertakers, barber’s, carriage museum, cinema museum and all the other places bringing the Wild West to life.
The Western Town has a Saloon and shop, as well as the chance to ride a horse, visit the magnificent cactus garden and enjoy the play areas for the children and adults; it also has a restaurant with a buffet and a swimming pool alongside.
There are daily live shows which bring back the hard life of the Wild West, with bank robberies and continuous struggles against the Sheriff, who tries to bring some order to the place.
The list of films made there is tremendous: from” For a Few Dollars More" to "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade". In this inhospitable place, which is breathtakingly beautiful, great sets were built: whole towns just like those in the American Wild West, forts and Indian Villages. This was in the seventies, when film producers chose the Tabernas desert to save money in their productions, choosing many of their extras from the people of Almeria itself. It was a cinematic paradise for Hollywood for two intense decades. Illustrious actors such as Clint Eastwood, Brigitte Bardot, Anthony Quinn, Claudia Cardinale, Alain Delon, Sean Connery, Raquel Welch, Orson Welles to name but a few, have all passed through these towns…
